About Our Troop

Welcome to the website of Troop 131!

Troop 131 is chartered by St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, TX and was formed in August, 2011.

Troop 131 fosters St. Jude's Catholic identity but is open to boys of all faiths in the Allen, TX area.  The Scouts and adult leaders of Troop 131 work together through the goals and methods of Boy Scouting to achieve the following purposes:spiritual growth, character development, family understanding, good citizenship, sportsmanship and fitness, respectful relationships, personal achievement, friendly service, and fun and adventure! Each month the troop also focuses on one Catholic virtue as well as the Scout Oath and Law, learning how to apply these principles as Scouts and in their daily lives.

Troop 131 is a boy led troop as intended by the founders of Boy Scouting and as practiced in the Boy Scouts of America for over 100 years.  This troop provides its' scouts a safe and supportive environment to learn and practice the important life skillsof leadership and teamwork.  The boys of Troop 131 learn critical planning skills.  They learn how to lead one another and to work in teams toward common goals.  They are treated with respect by the adult leaders of the troop and they are expected to treat adult leaders and each other with that same respect.

Troop 131 meets every Tuesday at St. Jude from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, except during summer months when meetings are every other week.

Troop 131 participates in an active outdoor program, camping on a monthly basis and going to a week long camp and a high adventure camp every summer.
